I haven't played Vietcong other than the generic demo with no ai they released a while ago.  The terrain was nice.

I've heard rumors that you may want a higher end system for that one though.

I like the new DOD, the En.303 is fun, and the new Bar model, and bipod action is excellent (as the Bren's).

They've gone back to an almost 1.3 aiming...and from the maps so far, looks fairly good.

I play OFP still, an with the quality addons you can get I prob will for a while yet. It's definitely an open warfare game i think, interiors are modelled far better by other games (GR etc)

Also... any word on the progress of the Vietnam OFP mod?

I liked the patched demo they released a couple of months ago but it also kind of depended on the server you played on.  The best servers to play on are the 'realistic' servers.  Those have the cross hairs disabled so it makes shooting from the hip much more difficult and less 'Quake' like, since you have to bring up the iron sight to aim.  I just downloaded the single player demo but haven't installed it yet.

Yep.  Some of the maps the allied forces are British, like the updated Caen map.

Ya i want to know how it compares to  VC (vietcong) as well?  I have the boxed version and played the game all the way thru. I was a little disappointed when i bet the game but i spent alot of time plaing it.  The online games are great with the boxes versions faster and they have  more types of game play + more areas / locations to play in (not just the stream)

Still think America's Army is the best.

DoD is definitly the better of the two, at least in my humble opinion.  The game play in DoD is more fleshed out than Viet-Cong and the action is a lot more faster and furious.

Stopped playing DoD when better looking more immersive military based FPS games came along like MOHAA, OP Flashpoint, America's Army etc. Only thing I disliked about OP:F was the poor way they handled multiplayer. Most of the FPS games I have I bought for online play and OP:F was a big dissapoitment after the initial WOW factor of the game for it's huge maps and realistic looking terrain. I used to enjoy Counterstrike but there's just too many hackers playing it these days. I tried the Raven Shield demo and enjoyed it, are many playing it online? gonna upgrade i nthe next few months and the GFX card I was looking at buying was bundled with the full ver of Raven Shield. Battlefield was a bit of a dissapointment for me, I've not played it in months now. One forthcoming game that did perk my interest was Soldner: Secret Wars an FPS game based on current real world weapons and with terrains on par with OP:F

DoD is now the same as moh, the new version is crap and except for a few map tweaks 3.1 is still better in terms of gameplay.

The only thing that makes the New DoD attractive is its free, (all though you still need half-life) unless you buy the box.

If you dont own Half life then you arent really a FPS gamer.

OFP for a long time sucked online it got better. Ghost Recon was real good. But for just unadulterated action any of the Half life mods beat umm. Hell I used to play Counter Strike for hours on end.
