From AvWeb's OSHflash 00.7

ROCKET SCIENTISTS WANT TO BUILD ME163 REPLICA
That's right, a company wants to build a flying replica of the world's
only pure rocket-powered combat aircraft, the Messerschmitt Me163
Komet, made operational by a desperate Germany in the closing months of
World War II.  The company attempting this sky-high project is Xcor
Aerospace of Mojave, Calif., literally a group of rocket scientists
with experience designing and building rocket engines.  If you give
them a check next week, they estimate they can have your flyable Me163
in a little over two years.

NOTE: See AVweb's Day 7 OSHnews coverage for additional details on
   the Me163 replica:

Even with those pesky motor problems solved, I still say it's a deathtrap.

Actually it's got great flying qualities.  Operated as a glider it was a great airplane.  The only problem was the propulsion system.  If this guy has a reliable motor and fueling system he can install, then he'll probably be OK.

Save yourself a ton of money, and buy one of these, you can paint it camo and put a cross on it.  It doesn't use T-stoff or C-Stoff, much safer!

And that little thing about breaking the pilot's back on landing

I think it's the part about leaving your landing gear on the ground that says: One way ticket" to me.  Nice plane to look at, but I wouldn't want to ride in it
