CH USB throttle problems
« on: May 05, 2003, 10:48:08 PM »
I have a new CH USB pro throttle which goes with my old CH USB Combat stick. Just installed the throttle and had some problems.

In XP the throttle, pedals, and stick are recognized and listed as “OK”. In the calibration via XP the throttle is fine, but the stick does not function. When I go into AH the stick works fine when I am on the runway, but in stick mapping the stick does not work. Yet the throttle functions in stick mapping, but not on the runway. ???
Do you guys use the CH Control Panel to map? Do you use the mapping in AH? How do you get them to work?

Yes I have the latest drivers and all that from the CH site. :)

MB Epox 8K7A
AMD 1.4
RAM 512
HD Maxtor 40 gig
Sound Card Sound Blaster Live Value
Vid Card Radion 8500LE

Thanks! :)

Have you assigned all the buttons in AH to all the buttons on the stick and Throttle?

In the left hand box you have all the AH assignments like axis, rudder, throttle buttons 1-32 etc.

They must be assigned to a corresponding button in the right side box like throttle Hat1,button 1-12 Combat stick Hat1, button 1-12 etc

I use the control manager software, as it is quite flexible.

Hope it helps.

If you have a gameport fighterstick there will be issues trying to mix USB and gameport devices.

How is the throttle anyhow? I have a Cougar which I have grown to hate and don't use any more, though I miss the buttons. I was thinking about CH stuff as I already  have USB pedals.

I use ch throttle and rudders, and satek cyborg 3d gold stick.  I am running XP.  I do not use the ch software and only do my mapping in AH.  I assign the buttons starting with the stick first then go to the throttle.  Mine all work fine and when I wear out the Satek (on my second one in almost two years of flying) I dont have to reprogram anything.

I have virtually the same set-up, works fine. CH USB gear on XP Pro, running CM 2.1. If you would like to try my CM map I would be more than happy to send it to you.

RGJ I guess I am confused, (no surprise here). ;)

In the joystick setup I have # 1-12 for my CH Combat stick, (going from memory here, I am at work). For my throttle I have # 1-36 if I recall. How can I assign button one on my stick if I have used it for my throttle? Do I have to assign them one at a time?

Also if you use the control manager software do I need to assign them still in AH?

Zazen yes please! :)

I assigned the buttons individually, when I did not use the control manager.

If you use the control manager all you have to assign are the x-y-z axis, as the control manager programs the CH kit to use keys that are default in AH like e=engine to a button etc.

Thanks zazen. Have your mapping now. :)

Maddog it was not at first then the other day they started to work.  I had time last night to start maping them one key at a time. It was working, but will take a lot of time.

It sounds like the CM is the way to go. Sunking I see you on ICQ all the time. I will msg you.

Thanks gents!
