OK, everyone throw a dollar in the pool and pick a date/time group for the moment the first complaint about the new map rotation is posted. No fair picking a date before it actually starts.
This will be an interesting experiment in the characteristics of this group of people.
I'll wager by the third day of the "new system" there'll be complaints.
I'll complain now, Toad. What the hell is the big thing about what map we are on? All these people always wishing we were on a different map or if there was a new one to fly on it would be better. How ridiculous can we all be? The ground we fly over has no effect on what the game play is. No matter which map, it is still a constant mass suicide Jabo endless onslaught of porking and base captures with no point.
There is no goal to AH. There is no 'big picture' that means anything. If the be-all end all is to get "perk points" then perk points should have some meaning other than being able to fly a Me-262 or drive a Tiger once in a while.
The MA is a constant furball and nothing else. Even when players get together in joint operations or missions, they still just wind up as mass Jabo pork raids where the side with the greater numbers wins. No skill is required and it doesn't help even if you have it. The numbers will always win in the MA because death is not a factor and the enemy will eventually give up and go to a different area rather than fight 10-1 and get vulched all day.
AH2 will be fun for a while, but the novelty will wear off after a while. I mean, if all the missions are pre-scripted, how many will you be able to fly before you say "I've flown that one already HTC. We need more new missions!"
I for one firmly believe that in order to have a game that will really keep people's interest, you have to make it where actual thinkning and strategy come into play. I would love to see organized missions that mean something again. Just about every mission you see these days say "Jabo Raid Axx"
The terrains are designed with no real stragetic advantage points and strat target strewn out all over the place sometimes in impossible to defend areas. And now, with the advent of the Me163, huge bomber raids to HQ are almost never seen unless the country doing it has a HUGE numerical advantage and are running out of targets to hit.
Bottom line is that AH is becoming stagnent in the gameplay department, and simply changing when a map is going to rotate is not going to change anything.
