Gents,
Here is the run down from frames 1 & 2 of Manila 1944.
Totals for USN Frame 191 Pilots with 65 kills and sunk 3 CV’s
Also 33 Ack, 9 Fuel tanks, 2 Ammo dumps, 2 Barracks, 2 Vehicle Hangers, and 3 Miscellaneous buildings.
Totals for Imperial Japan Frame 1109 Pilots with 58 kills and sunk 2 CV’s and 4 DD’s
Totals for USN Frame 279 Pilots with 57 kills and sunk 3 CV’s
Also 17 Ack, 5 Fighter Hangers, 1 Vehicle Hanger
Totals for Imperial Japan Frame 297 Pilots with 51 kills and sunk 2 CV’s & 2 CA’s
Totals for both framesUSN destroyed 122 enemy, Lost 108 pilots
IJN destroyed 109 enemy, Lost 122 pilots
USN Lost = 4 CVs, 2 CAs, 4 DDs
IJN Lost = 6 CVs 50 Ack, 9 Fuel tanks, 2 Ammo dumps, 2 Barracks, 3 Vehicle Hangers, 5 Fighter Hangers, and 3 Miscellaneous buildings.
Certainly the loss of 6 CV’s is significant. Could you trade 2 CV’s for 2 CA’s and 4 DD’s? I personally think so.
*They did not lost any shore batteries which were designated targets nor did they lose any Bomber Hangers. This is noteworthy for with the bomber hangers intact they could still have some offensive punch and their shore batteries would be a threat for shipping.
Remember the next two frames we will be switching sides. I will post on that later today.
