Microsoft: Internet-Ready Toilet A Hoax

POSTED: 7:20 a.m. EDT May 13, 2003

REDMOND, Wash. -- Microsoft says a company news release that said it was developing a portable toilet with Internet access, called an "i-Loo," was a hoax perpetrated by its British division.

The April 30 release, issued by the company's MSN Internet division in the United Kingdom, said Microsoft was developing a portable toilet with a wireless keyboard and an extending height-adjustable plasma screen in front of the seat. The i-Loo was to debut at festivals this summer in Britain.

The fake release generated coverage by The Wall Street Journal, The Associated Press and Reuters.

A Microsoft spokeswoman has apologized for "any confusion or offense it may have caused."

Even if they really did try something like this I would never use it.  Imagine what the results of any bacteria or foreign material test would show from the keyboard.  YUCK!
Some will fall in love with life and drink it from a fountain that is pouring like an avalanche coming down the mountain

And here I was ready to set it up as my AH flightsim cockpit.

Kind of gives a new meaning to the word "cockpit" doesn't it :)
