Would my cable connection deteriorate if i use kazza. LOL i just recieved 3 viruses from kazza and i delete them thanks to my "V-Shield".

not to mention your speeds are most likely being capped. Did you try a trojan search on your system yet?

Yup Kazaa will totaly scrap your connect. There were some instances where I got a ping well into the 1800's. After shutting down Kazaa my ping went to 95, maximum.

As to viruses, think about it. basically your computer is in a huge swap meet convention center filled with other computers. A few of them have the computer equivalent of SARS, or Mad Cow disease. Do you really want to go to someplace where the potential for catching something really nasty exists?

After finding a few viruses I thought that was the price I had to pay to have the entertainment I wanted, but Scrapping my AH connect was too much a price to pay. I scrapped Kazaa, besides the porn on Kazaa was really bad;)

Ive used kazaa for years, and while I dont know if I have a trojan (norton nor mcaffee have detected one yet, but those cheapo programs are crap anyway), but ive never gotten a virus that has messed my system or screwed up my connect.

My DSL has always plugged to AH at 65 ping almost the whole time.. or lower!

Now, I use kazaa lite (http://www.kazaalite.nl) .

While pron and programs (aka, dreamweaver, office, windows, etc) downloaded usually do have a higher chance of carrying viruses, you can pretty safely download MP3's and movies from it.

If you want to clean up your connection download these programs they will help, they delete all the spyware on your computer. "all freeware"

Never had a virus infected file from Kazaalite......of course, after a while you learn how to spot bogus files (there's a lot).

And if you limit the bandwidth Kazaa uses it wont screw with yr AH conx........

I have stupid ammounts of download bandwidth but only 512k upload. My Kazaa downloads rarely use more than 1/2 of my download bandwidth but upload will always be used to the max, this is what kills the conx to AH.

If you limit the upload bandwidth available to Kazaa to less than 1/2 of your total upload bandwidth you shouldnt have a problem anymore.

has anyone heard of "WIN MX"? Win MX is like kazza but it doesnt have spyware and you can ONLY download music and videos there

Yes Kazaa can muck up your connection to AH while you have both running. It can even muck up the connection with it not running either. This is from the blurb Skuzzy left on the Hints and Tips sticky post.

I quit using kazaa after these 3 stupid files kept popping up no matter how obscure the song I was looking for was. All 3 were 380some kb big and were ending (the reallthing!) (awesome!!!) and (please share!) So I got annoyed one day and seached for Scrooge McDucks version of Bomben auf Bishland and got 3 hits lol, those stupid files.

Anyway you leave it on and play AH? No wonder why some of you warp like heck.
