Swoopy you're sadly mistaken.. Even some of the c4's were approaching 1g on the skid pad.  The twin turbo you mention was probably a calloway vette and it had different weight distribution than standard vettes.  I looked up the numbers on your RS4.  Sorry buddy, even my '86 will chew that thing up and leave it as roadkill.  Now a friend of mine is having an RS6 delivered to him(supposed to be quite rare and hot) in July and we have a date planned at PIR to go a couple roundies.(He knows some fellers at Bondurant)  I'll probably wax his butt too...but only because he'll be afraid to get his new baby dirty.

46.4 mph through the slolam. Thats slow. So is 50. whatever for the Viper and Turbo. The vette must be knocking down cones just to keep up. LOL. I think these cars are just too heavy. Dam that Porsche has gotten heavy through the years, weighs as much as the Viper and Vette now.

Sorry, they're most likely going to think that no matter what you drive.

Vettes seem to win pretty regularly in the ALMS GTS categories.

Might be fun to see that Audi in a Speed Channel World Challenge race against the Mercedes, BMWs, Mazdas, and Acuras.

Having seen a RS4 in action at Texas Motor Speedway I can say it's a beast!  On the the twisty track (inside the TMS oval) you could hear the turbos spin up from a hundred feet away, everyone stopped and watched the RS4 when they heard the turbos.

The owner of the RS4 purchased the car in Mexico City and drove it up to Texas for the Audi Quattro Challange.  I have pics of the car, I got to sit in it and I had dinner with the owner.  The RS4 Recaro seats are awesome.

I'd bet my money on the RS4 vs a C5 (no mods)  Z06 vs RS4 would be a good match and the RS6 vs Z06 would be very close.

I wish the RS4 didn't cost so much or I'd probably have one, the wife feel in love with it when she saw it.

I still like the Vette's, I always have and someday I might own one.

You're right.. I haven't seen the RS6 in action.  What I've read about is says it's ok in sweeping corners but a bit heavy in sharp turns.  Unfortunately the track we will be on is not a road course, it's an oval where the raw horsepower of the RS6 may win the day.  OTOH  my 'vette is much lighter(and I dropped the 385 Z06 crate motor in it last year) than the RS6 and I'm hoping that is the difference.  Let's face it, even if I'm faster than my buddies RS6, do I want to beat him in his new machine?  Not really, it's a dream car for him and it will be his day.  I'm just there to make it more fun.  After we go a few roundies, we're gonna switch vehicles.  I don't know much about his car but it sounds like a lot of car. :)
