Glacier Girl

Just saw "Glacier Girl" at the annual air show here in Columbia, Mo.  I understand it was the plane's first air show appearance since restoration.  She looked lovely.

I'll post pics in the images forum when they're ready, if anyone's interested.

:D

Lil' podunk Columbia has a pretty squeakin air show for the price every year (it's free).  This year's WWII birds included a Corsair, Hellcat, Dauntless, Warhawk, Mitchell, Mustang (P-51C), two Thunderbolts, and, of course the Lightning.  Those were the flying displays.  There were several other statics.

I think I got shots of all of them on the ground ... but with a disposable point-and-shoot.
Anyway, I'll get you a peek soon, if anyone here is interested in this sort of stuff.
;)

Cool man, MUCH obliged for the pics when you can.  I live 20 mins. from the Lonestar Flight Museum and I never get tired of staring at the F7F....(goose bumps).

I was all set to start as a volunteer there at the Lone Star Flight Museum 2 yrs ago when my sister dropped the bomb on me that she was selling her house and moving back home with my parents after her divorce.  I was due to start training in 2 weeks...talk about rotten timing.

I used to go by and see that place every month when I had to drive out to Galveston for inventory at the medical center.  I loved that place.  They have some really cool aircraft and some awesome volunteers.

I stood on the flight line and chatted with a fellow who is a volunteer flier for them as he was cleaning up thier Jug after a check flight.  He was getting ready to depart for MI the next day in the P-47 along with their B-17 "Thunderbird" for an airshow up there.
