I hate Mindanao
« on: November 25, 2001, 12:11:00 PM »
I have grown to hate the Mindanao terrain.
It seems we are playing it 98% of the time, and it almost completly eliminates ground vehicles as an offensive weapon.  I fondly remember when Panzers came out and we could actually stage armor attacks, they were a blast!  Now, with this terrain and all the dang trees, that part of the game has been eliminated.  To bad, alot of guys had great times and some big battles back then.

When I get bored with the air action, I like to jump in a GV for a change of pace.  I cant do this in Mindanao.  Plus, it seems to take forever for a country to get a reset in this terrain.

Even if someone doesnt want to be part of the GV action, surely they will be bored of the same terrain all the time.

I am getting so frustrated and tired of having to play in this one terrain, I am for the first time in a long while considering reopening a WB account for a change of pace.

I hope someone, anyone at HTC will listen to those of us getting frustrated and will do something someday.

Sorry if this sounds like a whine, but its born of frustration.

You gotta admit the terrain is great for low altitude furballing.
But yeah it kinda screws up the landgrab porkfest.   :)

Logged on today, again it's Mindanao.   :(

I hate to continue a whine, but I am so very dissapointed in the way the game stalls on this map.

One of the great things about AH has been the changes keeping things from getting stale.  Well, its getting stale to me now.

I know Mindanao is a good map for dogfighting, but that is about it.  It absolutely sucks for ground vehicles, pretty much unusable.

The new requirement to completly destroy a city before capturing it, while the city and be resupplied has made base captures much harder, too hard I think.  Because of this, a field like Mindanao almost never changes.  Obviously the changes in strat are made on the fly, kind of a "lets try it this way and see what happens".

I think what is disspointing me most is the lack of comment from anyone at HTC. Not one word to make me feel they give a crap about mine, or anyones concern.  Are we just viewed as whiners?  Is the recent influx of players brought about by AW collapse causing arrogance or maybe just too much work?

Oh well, time to consider my future in AH, when it frustrates me this much, it just might not be worth it.  One less player wont make a differance I guess.

I think there has been enough of a discussion of this map for HTC to take notice. What there probably hasn't been enough of so far is time for them to act on it. The words out, and I'm quite certain HiTech is listening to his community. It might take a bit of logistics in ensuring that a chosen alternative isn't just creating a new problem to replace the current one.
