None of these points are particularly earth shaking, but they are many small, annoying, fixable things that might improve our online experience w/ Aces High.
1) In the strat window, scrolling thru the bases to find the one you are looking for is frustrating. For some reason that does not seem to be tied to base capture or anything else, the scroll bar will "reset" itself back to where it was originally while you are scrolling down to get to the desired base requiring you to repeat the process.
2) Start the cdr's gun in the panzer to facing forward (aligned w/ main gun) instead of at the 3 o'clock position. Allow the system to "remember" where you left the gun when you jump from driver's position and back. Currently, the gun will "reset" itself to the 3 position.
3) Make the throttles consistent throughout the GV spectrum; IOW, map the controls like the PT boat.
4) Change the default VH hanger view where "show enabled models only" is the default. We should not have to press it everytime to hide the bombers/fighters obviously not available.
5) Enable tracers for manned ack.
6) A faster map zoom in and out.
7) Fix bug where air bases and VH's, even under direct attack, don't flash.
8) Vary spawn point at Vehicle Bases such that if you spawn, no one else will spawn "inside" you.
9) Fix bug wherein switching from driver's to gunner's poistions the turret turns, but the POV does not. Only cure is to go back to driver's position and then back to turret. This causes one to be kilt very often, especially in tank town.
10) Fix the bug where (especially Pizza map) if you die it spawns you clear across the map -- even if the base from which you upped is still viable.
11) VOX Voice loss: can still hear it, but mic volume goes down so low, you can't speak--only cure is hard reset. Alt-tab doesn't fix it, nor does decreasing the sound values in hardware acceleration.
12) Fix ammo counter in upper left corner of M8's and tanks. It gives a value of over 1500 rounds for the main gun -- and while it does decrement after firing, it makes it difficult to see how many rounds are left esp. if using the F8 view for xtra long distance shots.
13) Show last cdr of CV group until new cdr assumes control. Would give us a little accountability for the bozos who think laying in a new course every 5 minutes for the CV's is amusing.
14) Fix the film system. If after you view a film you move the slider back to the far left to review the film again, the system will freeze causing hard reset to get out of it (NOT the film editor).
15) Unmanned ack-- in a flak, if you are hit by the base ack, it will first kill the turret. Every single time. Never a hit on a track or engine, only the turret. Certainly there could be some more randomness added here.
16) Choosing a field gun: If the gun is dead, it should be red. Many times, if one clicks on a yellow gun icon, after many clicks, the system will come back w/ "Gun destroyed" and often will just shunt you unasked into a shore battery.
17) Fix manned VH field guns on the Pizza map that will only return "Invalid Ship Position" every time they are chosen.
18) Add a rearm pad at the VH bases. After all, when taking a porked air base, the fiters can land and rearm fully even if those supplies are not there. Why not the same at VH bases?
Like I said, nothing earth shaking, and a lot of it GV oriented but I hope these things will be attended to. I'm running win98se, a P3/550, 512mb RAM and a GF4 ti-4400 on a wirelss DSL (512Mbit) connect.
