GUNS and IDIOTS dont mix

lazs2: miko... we go to different ranges... 11" riflle barrels are illegal in every state.   It is a federal law.   16" is the limit.

That's what I said, 11" barrel plus 5" muzzle brake soldered permanently.

sure... these guys may have been planning on dying but is that any reason to finnish your days with ears that are ringing?

I've done a lot of shooting - from 5.45 to 7.62 to 12.5 to 125mm. Even popped a few in anger. Only saw the earmuffs for the first time when I came to US.

all neophite problems... these guys were buffoons.    They knew little or nothing about  guns.

Come on - they were children after all. Human brain does not develop it's full reasoning capacity well into mid-20s. We know that children are less capable than adults. It does not mean they are crazy like mrblack insists.

I've seen some real Yahoos at the local pistol range. Guys you could tell were into guns because they looked cool on TV and reinforced their personal self-image as "Bad Dudes." When you look at the chips in the ceiling near the firing points and even the holes in the plywood barries between the firing points (generally at the downrange end at least) and see the pistol barrels pointed casually away from downrange without being cleared... I start to want a little tighter restriction pre sale and some mandatory training. But then, I'm anal to the point of "rodding" my automatic clear before I get casual with the weapon.

Guns don't kill people.  People kill people.   That's what some idiot said anyways.

IMHO, the responsible gun owners are far outnumbered by the irresponsible ones.

“The 2001 National Survey shows there are 43.7 million people in the United States who have hunted in any previous year.”

43.7 million, the vast majority of whom are responsible.  The mortality rate of driving to the hunting grounds is undoubtably higher than the gun accident rate.

well... I see a much higher percentage of idiots in line at the DMV than I do at the line at the shooting range.

Miko.. I would have talked to the guy with the 5" flash supressor "soldered on" to his 11" 223 barrel... I woulda liked to have heard his reasoning.   No telling.. he might have one.

The ranges I attend are pretty strict.  Any idiotic behavior is cause for ejection from the facility.

I imagine more people die from playing golf every year than from hunting.
