I had the deep 6 300 in my previos f150. It is a very powerful simple engine. My current 94 F150 305 V8 is nicer on the highways but I wouldnt want to load the back up with a cord of wood like I could with the old one. Mine is just like Rips. But 4X4 and dark green.

I've had an F-150 for ten years.  If it ever wears out I'll get another one.

All I did was put it in Photoshop and shrink it, nothing else.

Canon S40 4.0 Gigapixel.

I'll post the original (If I can via this BBS) but it will be HUGE...1600 res.

I will stay here as long as you stay up there.  We don't need any pasty skinned garage carpeters down here.

Couldn't GIVE me a Ford.  I've had friends roll new ones off the lot and have em towed back repeatedly.

Can't vouch for the trucks, the ones that my friends have had are Mustangs, Thunderbirds, Taurus, etc.

Kinda why my current vehicle search has me at Honda as of late.

Only truck I had was a Dodge Dakota, never had any problem with it.  Bought the Saturn cuz I was doing in town driving and wanted better mileage

Sorry Ford  :p

My Grandfather was a very wise man. When he bought something, it was intended to work hard and last forever. He drove a 1967 2WD Ford F-100 with the big 6 (300cid vs the 265 cid) and a Granny 4 speed. No radio, no A/C. That truck hauled cattle, feed, hay, fencing material, pulled calves out of their mothers during problem births (that was a sight), bounced off of trees and thru ditches chasing stray cattle. After he died it became my beat up butt ugly Yellow pick-up with 150,000 on the odometer. I drove it all thru High School and almost cried when I came home from boot camp and found out my Dad sold it. Sitting in my driveway right now are my 88 F-250 diesel and my 94 Explorer. I'll be a Ford man till the day I die.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

Owned a 64' GMC in college with a 3 on the tree, and the big 6 cylinder. It was so ugly it couldn't die.

But the best of all was my 68 IH. Don't think they make them anymore, but it was a tough sob.

"It was so ugly it couldn't die..."

ROTFL!!!

I had a 76 IH Scout, same...sold it with 200k on it, still running strong, when I got my Ford F150 new in 1991.

Same here.  The ones that don't get towed end up with "For Sale" signs in the windows.  And why is it that Ford headlights glaze up into milky-white pieces of plastic after a few years in the sun?

Compare to http://www.hwysafety.org/vehicle_ratings/ce/html/0108.htm

Which vehicle is really "Ford Tough" when it counts?

Toyota wins, hands down.

Aw come on!  The dummy's chest came out ok...his head was mushed, but his heart was still in the right place!

Still a Chevy man, but ya can't knock the Toyota.  Even tho' it's ugly.  ;)

I don't think you like that truck.  I mean, where's the truck's carpet?

i had a 74 F-150 with the big six. back then i was in the boat buisness. the damn thing was submerged twice (second time it floated.. had a wooden bed and box) and had 210,000 miserable miles on it when i climbed in it and the floorboards gave out.. rusted clean thru.

i jammed a couple of pieces of ply over the hole, added a milk crate and couch pillow and took another boat to the ramp that day. we pulled the hardwood bed off it later that week and gave it to the scrap metal yard.. where they put a plow on it and put it back to work.

it was a good truck. wouldn't hestitate to buy another one for boat work.
