They'll wanna heed some lessons the F-16 program went thru

The air intake is in a prime position for FOD...anything spinning off the front gear will get vacuumed right up and in.  The J-85 engines are $50k a pop...could be a pricey fix.

That`s always made me wonder: can`t you just put some, what do you call it, "wire-net" in front of the air intakes ? Or would it reduce air throughput by too much ?

Anyway, feed and raise it well and one day it might grow rocket rails and demand to be called a Mig-29 :D
