When you rolled the plane and then centered the stick you had to add opposite stick to counter the momentum of the roll. And I don't mean a little opposite stick either.

WB 2.6 had its issues, but it was still entertaining.
If you put 2.6 against the air combat part of WW2OL, WW2OL beats it hands down in every category.

Oh, and killing yourself with a joystick? You think that's bad. I've killed my pilot with the trim tabs.

Aces High, by far.

Its riddled with bugs, uber planes (come'on, the LA7 and N1K2 are WAY too UFO

and the comunity is a bunch of stunninghunks.

same here dinger died while trimmimg. I entered black out then stayed there even when I released back pressure. The the ole' skull and cross bones. I ended flight and my 110 was doing endless loops.

You can make fun out of most games despite how bad they are. But wwporkonline is just downright sorry.

The game with the modified B-52 was called Megafortress. I got that as part of an 8 cd set which also included Heros of the 357th.

Say what you want but for a kid who knew nothing about realism I thought those sims were great and Hero's is what got me into WWII planes. Nothin like flyin a P-51 into the Effiel Tower

ATF was great fun. I'm great friends with someone now because we started playing that over the modem back during my freshman year in high school (he was a senior)

There has been a couple of really bad sims out there but i can't think of any that come to mind right out.

ROFL! WB 2.6 had issues -that's like saying that we had a bit of political trouble in the years 1939-45.

WB 2.6 was fine, if you were happy to fly around with guns loaded with blanks. B&Z dropped out of the equation, as there simply was not enough time to fire the necessary 40-50 cannon rounds to get a kill before it was time to pull up again. My last sortie in 2.6 was when I emptied most of my 190A4 cannon into a zeke, and merely caused a fuel leak.

Upgrading from P266 to AMD 450 made a big difference. That was the way with WB - you always had to upgrade, but sometimes they (iEN) wouldn't tell you!

JV44 without a doubt. NES gfx along with non-existing FM. Awful user interface, etc., etc. I wonder how they did the "screenshots" on the package...

I kinda like "Flight of the Intruder" - maybe that's because I loved the movie at that time (which is also trash by my standards now).

WW2O certainly had/has some serious flaws but once you got used to the flying part wasn't THAT bad.

Rowans BoB was actually quite fun - the viewing system sucked beyond recognition but it was entertaining enough to draw me away from AH a while. DM was very detailed for that time (= pre IL2 era) and the setting alone makes it worthwhile playing...

I just flew WW2OL this morning. I fly in real life as well and the flight model is not unrealistic. Landings are fairly real but the plane does not wreck when you ground loop it.

I always get 50 fps plus. If you fly into a big battle you get drop outs but I mostly avoid the 100 plus attacker sized fights and stick to the smaller ones.

I hate the blackouts when you pull up too hard in a 109F but I have never killed myself doing it.

The have improved the graphics and you see the plane you are attacking start to leak coolant or catch fire. I have a blast in there.

I would not say it is the worse flight sim ever. Not even close. There are scores of POS out there.
