Partial retraction of gripe about current setup
« on: June 09, 2003, 08:53:40 AM »
I've gone into the CT a few times on this setup and it's better than I thought it would be.  I still maintain that the setup would be even better without the 262.

Everyone having a chance to fly Spit 14's, F4u4 hogs and Tempests is a good idea.

Anyway, to Andjig for creativity.  Keep it coming.

I agree.  There's usually something in every setup that bugs me and in this case its the jets.  Doesn't mean the whole setup is porked though IMO.  Not a big "jet" fan myself, but I don't expect everyone to share my bias.  Fly what you want and have fun.  Had a good time last night flying jabo in a p-51, then switched sides to balance the numbers and flew a spit 14.  Had to dodge jets on both sides which was somewhat annoying, but still had fun.  Looking forward to flying the f4u4 and tempest this week also.

Andijg for an interesting setup and for trying something different.

I avoided several jets on my sorties Friday night.  One of them got a lucky 30mm hit and my wing fell off.   I guess it's bound to happen when 2 of them are taking turns along with a P-51D who's trying to pounce as well.  ;)

All in all I think its a pretty nice setup...the 262 has pretty limited value...except as a JABO bird :).

Originally didnt think much of the plane set match up: Spit IVX vs the Pony on the mainland....till I ran into Wilbus 7-8 times in a row (in pony) and got beat to death (just great flying). Having the tempest and -4's I think tilt things a bit toward that side...at least so it seemed since all seem to have a significant "top end" over spitty...of course since I tend to switch over to side with lower #'s could be I was just constantly upping into higher cons. But it seemed like even the pony has an edge in "total E".

Anyway I think it's a great change of pace and certainly a big improvement over the MA....only thing that I keep having an issue with is the porking/vulching/hide and seek with the low #'s. Gets annoying at times...but all in all was a blast....

flying as azhacker this time around.

call me a pooperhead, but i still think the setup, and i'm putting this nicely so puhlease, no counter-slams :D , leaves much to be desired.  i guess i don't get into this "let's simulate a simulator" mindset.  dunno quite how to put it, so i'll shut up and leave it with that.

no slam against you personally andimiester.  kudos for the effort :) , but...

that is all.
