IIRC, the last razorback variant, P-47D-23, was actually faster (about 5 mph I think) and climbed better than the D-25... possibly the D-30 too.

In AH, the rocket load is different between the two planes.  The -25 has six tube launched bazooka-type rockets and the -30 can load ten 5.0 inch rockets.

Fly the green one down low and the silver one up high.

I don't know if it's just because I beleive it can, but for me the -25 does actually turn better. I can get low and slow in it and get out easier than I can with the -30.

I recently had a great fight against a LA-5 down low and held my own for quite a while (ran out of ammo). I normaly fly it with the 247 rounds per gun , using all 8 guns and 50% fuel with a single drop tank. Weight makes a lot of difference in the way the Jug handles. It really lends itself to good wingman tactics. It can be devastating...
