Wacky pop up prob
« on: June 09, 2003, 11:57:53 PM »
Guys
I know this prolly has been asked a bunch, but here goes

Fresh install of XP pro and no browser open, I open any game including AH and about 10 minutes later I will get dumped to the desktop and low and behold 10 or more IE windows are open with all kinds of popups... I have gone to MS config and killed everything.

I think I killed messager, this is driving me nutty.

Any ideas?

What SunKing posted will solve the problem, as far as the pops getting started.

Once planted though, you need to remove them with something like Adaware.

So disable Messenger, run Adaware and your problem should be solved.
