A good read...
« on: June 17, 2003, 11:41:31 AM »
I went to lunch one day with some employee's from one of our customers.  For some reason the talk drifted around to airplanes and WWII.  One of the guy's, Ed,  said his uncle, Phil Bacon, had been a pilot during WWII and flew P40's and P47's.

A few years back, Mr. Bacon decided to write down his memiors of his experiences in WWII for his family.  Ed took the time and compiled it into a PDF document.  He volunteered to send to me a copy to read.  I asked if his uncle would mind if I shared it with other people.  Ed emailed back and said "No Problem".

Just remember, this was originally written for his family, not general consumption, so it does contain a lot of personal views and comentary.

Enjoy,

Lothar

Sorry, I should have warned it is a large file.  I think about 6MB total.  That most likely why you are getting a blank screen.  Wait a few minutes and watch the progress bar.  I tried zipping it, but it didn't make much difference.

Sorry to hear that GScholz.  He asked me if I knew who you were, and I told him you are a good stick.  He is a good pilot and a great shot, so I struggle against him too.  Hope he was cordial enough, he is a good guy, but sometimes he lets his emotions control his behavior.

I still can't download.  It says that it cannot find the file when I try to save target as..
