I always find it particularly amusing when Germans harp on "Fat Americans." I remember hearing/reading put downs about "Fat West German tourists" when describing some of the European beach scenes of the 1980s. Not that we Americans aren't fat and all, just that people in red-meat houses shouldn't throw pastries.
