Hey Pongo I flew the LA5fn the other night and found it to be superior to the LA7 in everything except for the speed and cannons. I turned with spits down low and gained their 6. I slow scissored with a zeke 1 notch of flaps and got it with a snap shot. I powered with F4U's and 51D's, caught and killed them.

What is all of the issue with the LA7?? Why dont more people fly the LA5? I thought the LA5 had slightly more range and a much better climb rate than the LA7. The 20's on it are more accurate than the ones in the 3 cannon mode on the LA7.

Just seems strange, LA5 is under appreciated for such a good plane.

Because why fly the la5 when you can fly the la7?

the la7 is slightly more stable than the la5.  slightly faster and has the 3 cannon option.

the la5 is a decent enough ride, but as innominate said, why fly la5 when you have la7... altho' the la5 is a pretty good perk farmer.
Surrounded by suck and underwhelmed with mediocrity.
I'm always right, it just takes some poepl longer to come to that realization than others.

You sure it was La5? May be by mistake you got la7 from a hangar?

I'm always more cautious with an la5 than an la7......  not only is the la5 a good plane ...better pilots tend to fly it rather than the la7.

People complain about the la7 becuase 'you' can fly like a total moron and still have enough energy to run away.  Or to run down a guy who just shook 'you'.

Against many planes the La5fn might as well be an La7, it compares the same way vs a Spit vb and a P40 or Zero that an La7 compares against a P51,Niki Spit ix.  For know realistic reason that I know the La5fn turns a little tighter as well.
I think it rules the FM2, although some disagree.
