I was at one of those Casbah shows with the Rugburns and Jewel.  She's not bad looking but her body is definitely better than the face, so it kind of balances out in the end.

does anyone like the Deep Natural/Dub Natural Double CD from Michelle Shocked?

It's a recent purchase for me, and a departure from the brassy Capt Swing and desperation of Kind Hearted Woman. But a grower I think.

Jewel, her 1st album at least, was jarring and compulsive, with few smooth edges and a quiet, but rock solid conviction. I've not heard any more, but to hear that she's gone 'pop' seems a shame - all her talent to be uniformly stamped out for a well defined customer unit...

Bounder, you are absolutely correct, if this is true. However, I cannot overlook the fact that both her Upper Right Lateral Inscisor and Upper Right Cuspid are strangely endearing ... to me anyway. And another compelling attribute, her breasts appear to be of generous proportions.

She has that home-town look. I like her.

However, I confess I only saw her sing on MTV a time or two.  :D
