I like the navy part of it. I think miko is correct when we get shore batteries it will alieviate some of the problems you mentioned leo.

I too, mostly just like to roam in my p51 looking for air2air fights. So i tend to avoid the madness that is flying anywhere near a CV cause of the flak.

 Sure it would detonate before it hit your boat. At about 50 feet above you. And the air bursts would shred the crew as it did to enemy ground forces when the US army used them in 44-45 for that purpose.
