well, it is my ah b-day and i have a few observations. read on if you wish, or check the other posts for some tittalating debate of strat vs fur.
first i would like to thank the ht staff for such a superior sim. i am sure that their hard work is what has sustained this game while others have failed. from what i have read on this board it was the lack of product support and employee dedication that led to the demise of some other sims. (now where is the brown nosing smilie? i know i saw it somewhere.)
thanx to the people who helped me soooo much in the ta when i first started. btbear (lttlbear), mcguinn, mandie, and btdiver. their help kept me from getting alot of alt-f4 resposes to dumb questions in the ma.
this is the best online community. notice i didnt say the nicest. this is what most people think of when referring to online boards. i have posted numerous questions on this board and all were answered with lightning fast and very helpful responses by PLAYERS. plus the heated debates constantly raging are great reads! stay away from the o-club. only bad things happen there.
was having a rough go of it one night. engaged someone low, fly up on his tail, and the infamous "warp behind ya" bug happened. FLAME ON!!! i ripped him good on channel 1. he ripped back. it may seem insignificant but something was accomplished. i learned how to feel like a total dumbprettythang. i apolagized to the fellow prop jock the following day, have not repeated this behavior, and no bad blood is left between us. of course i apolagized for my behavior after i shot him down.
night time in the ma? bad numbers in the ct? go ot the ta and help a new guy. it will make for better fights later.

it is easy to find good furballs. with the big gaps in radar coverage you can bomb the heck out of enemy factories.

wanna have some fun? come to the ct! tired of getting bounced by hoards of la7s? come to the ct! know what to expect from your enemys plane set. after a while you can pull up the roster during prime time and you will know everybody on it. you dont have to squelch channel 1! wanna get the you deserve after owning someone instead of the whine? COME TO THE CT!!!

perk the la7. i mean, i like flyin it too, but come on!
if you are new, join a squad. you will make some great friends and flyin with a wingman really improves your acm and your survival chances. to the 106th! especially my full time wingie, Groth. there is nobody i would rather steal kills from.
this game has also renewed my interest in wwII history. read everything you can by stephen ambose, even if some books repeat others in certain places. my favorite is "fighter pilot" by william r dunn. stories such as how trainees who had the last flight of the day would open the canopy and fly inverted to clear all the mud and cigarette butts from the canopy. just tidbits like that are very interesting to me.
i hope most of you have an aviation museum near you. get there and check into volunteer work. i am near addison, TX which has an opperational pony, spit8, p40, 109, and an AVENGER! man that tbm is a huge beast.

sorry, this was soundin like some piss poor award acceptance speach. anyway, you guys are great and i am looking forward to many more years of flying here. (how much did that billing notice say my account was past due?)
