Red stamp with CATS
« on: July 03, 2003, 06:32:46 PM »
Today I took FAA Private Pilot-Airplane exam. 90 dollars and 2 hours later I passed it with 78%. Wo0t!1!  I know I should’ve studied more but time and life just didn’t permit it. :(

Now I got a paper from US Department of Transportation FAA with a big, red “DO NOT LOSE THIS REPORT” stamp and CATS emboss.

Expiration date: 7/31/2005. <--- 2 years to got my private license :D That should be enough, right? :)

Congratulations mate!!!

BTW, just one exam and 2 hours?

We got 9 exams here for the PPL! (Navigation, Human factors, General Knowledge of the aircraft, law, performances, communications, procedures, principles of flight, and meteo, about 1 hour for each test)

And then they wonder why are there so few private pilots in Spain and so many ULMs

Thanks,

This was a written test and it includes all of your listed exams into one. Test was 60 questions and about 2 hrs and 30 minutes long. You will have to take another test before your solo and another one before FAA flight IIRC. My attempt is to get my solo in 8 hours. :)  I hope all my stick time in IL2 and other sims going to help.

Good luck.

Just a word of advice. Don't try to rush your solo. Being too eager doesn't help. Just concentrate on learning all you can from each flight with your instructor.

A premature solo can give you far too many little vices that are hard to correct in the long run.

Fly safe and have fun!
