Furball your gonna be hard pressed to stump some of the guys on this board.

I've only managed to stump everyone once, and that was my name this person thread a few posts down the from this one.

other than that I have no shrecking clue what that plane is :)

can say for sure it's not a b-24 or a c-87 though ;)

Looks like a Hercules powered Halifax, possibly a C.Mk.VI or VII.

Hi Dr. Zhivago,

>Could be Avro York C mkII...

Actually, I think it's a standard Avro York C.I - the large dark spinner with the specular light just give the wrong impression of being a radial engine with spinner-less hub.

You guys are really good ... yep, the Avro York (no, I didn't start the thread, wait for the verification from Furball).

see what I mean furball ;)

take a close look at the cockpit
though this one seems to be a different variant than the one you posted, no stardome (what do you call that dome anyways? it's for navigation at night right?)

Hi Pugg,

>no stardome (what do you call that dome anyways? it's for navigation at night right?)

Astrodome, for celestial navigation - the navigator will use a sextant under the astrodome to fix his position with the help of the stars just like the old-time sailors did.

Wtg! yup, Avro York it is!

Gonna be on the lookout for a harder one.  I tried to give you a bit of a clue by including the engine on this one, one good way of recognising it.
