While we wait for the weekend shots

I found these two, an external and a internal gunner position in a B17.

You smell that? Do you smell that?
Napalm, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that.
I love the smell of napalm in the morning.
The smell, you know that gasoline smell, smelled like victory.

WOW! Did you ever see a sim that allowed you to look through the nose of a B-17 and actually see the bombadier's stool inside??? This is great!

Glars,

Stool is an Americanism for a short seat, or chair.

Not a Fecal Reminant.  Though that also applies.

So Sacha is amazed that the aforementioned screen shot shows the seat that the bombedier would use while lining up the bombsite.

Of course a good scare may leave a stool sample on the stool.

Downtown I think most of the English speaking world knows two meanings for 'stool'

But damn you've got me puzzled with these two from your post:

"bombsite"

Is this the site on the plane where bombs are stored?

Most other WWII bombers also came equipped with a bombsight. Maybe yours is similar.

"bombedier"

Another Americanism perhaps with a French influence?

Anyways I'll take a punt here that it's derived from the Rest-of-the-World-Englishism 'bombardier' meaning a person who manufactures large holes.

But if I had put the <sp?> or been wide awake.  Or made no attempt as humorous sarcasm, what would you have to reply about.

Ha!

The main question should be does the "Bombedier" hang his "TP" on the "Bombsite" with the exposed sheet hanging out for easy access or near the wall for astectics <sp?>

I will have fewer problems when they add a spell checker to these UBBs.

The bombedier this water fountain thingy that they used to spray water on and hopefully clean the bombs out of the bombsite, which as you guessed is the place where the put the bombs at.

Anyway, ozunderstands they were long flights, so he's pretty sure that there were on occasion, stool in the plane.  Hell, when oz were in the Army, and was on tracks you would sometimes find coffee cans that NEVER EVER would anyone put coffee in. (Those with imagination will figure this out, no need to bother people unnneccesarily. ) And we never rolled as long as thier plane flights, so ozreckons they may have even needed a 50 gallon drum instead.
