Sidewinder Force Feedback 2
« on: July 06, 2003, 05:47:03 PM »
I recently reformatted my hard drive, reinstalled my 4in1 drivers, Win98SE and the software for AH and the MS Sidewinder stick. Initially the stick took right off and with no problems I flew a few test sorties to get the views etc set up. I logged out of AH but did not turn off the computer. When I logged onto AH a while later...the JS would not work. The system says connected and OK. The software is still in the MS hardware folder but the stick does not work. I deleted the software for the stick and reinstalled it...still did not work. I deleted it again and reinstalled, this time the stick worked but only until I logged out of the game (again without turning off the computer) did I miss a driver somewhere? This is a USB stick, the software said to install software before plugging in the Stick. I did it exactly this way. Is this a USB port prob? The stick show OK in device manager. This would not be the case I would think if the USB was not up. Anyone else ever have this type of problem? Enquiring minds want to know. This stick ran for a year on this machine without a prob.

AMD Athlon 1.1 GHz cpu
Duron 4X AGP ATX Motherboard
512 MB SDRAM
Nvidia 64 MB 4x Vid Card
Win98SE OS
Sidewinder FFB2 (USB)

did you try going into setup/joystick and clicking on the ms stick in the window on the right, then click select at the bottom? If the stick is showingup in the setup window you just may need to select it. make sure to calibrate in windows and ah.
