it grows on you ...

done better as a zero and helps when you are in a crowd of buddies but the slow planes are neat one on one

saw Fester land a 10 kill sortie in a P40B without a refuel ... so it can be done

he's #1 in the fighter rank with I think 27 kills to one death in 3 sorties ... amazin

with the obvious exception of fester....who could kill most of us in a c47 if they'd just let him fire his sidearm out the window....this is truely a pitiful setup. Absolutely NO skill is required 1 vs 1 in a zeke. I havent even been hit 1 vs 1...on the other hand outside of a couple kills in a hurricane in a 1-2 (both very green pilots) nothing I do matters 1 vs 1 in a p40 or hurricane.....so either you fly the same lame style as the MA or you decide weather you want good numbers or be part of the sacrificial horde.

That's funny how everyone views it. I rarely fly in here, it's always LW vs. Allied ( had my fill of it somewhere else on a daily basis. A couple of years force feeding will hold me over for awhile.. ).

So far in a couple of nights of flyin, I've had a great time flyin on either side.

Managed a snap spin in a P40 on the deck and a flat spin in a hurri that I was able to recover. Gave a few a fight outnumbered in a zeke..

Different planes from the same old 51, 38, 47, vs Me's and FW's..

Very refreshing..

But that's just me.

Fester must have one hellofa connection. I know he is good, no doubt but it would take me several multi solid hit pases to down a single A6M2 in the P-40B. The best I have done in one sortie is 5 Kills and 4 assists with empty guns. If I coulda just got credit for the Hurricans that finished off the kills.

Fester is a freak.

I kinda like this set up, the kills are harder for me but more satisfying.

Was on late last night and had some very good 1v1 and 1v2 fights in the a6m2,1v1 the a6m2 is hard to beat but I have seen some very good flying by some in the p40b.

I Flew Allied yesterday. The hurri can really hang tough with the zeke in ACM. I was really suprised. However my 303's didnt seem to do much damage, but at least i could keep them trained on the target longer than I could with a P-40. Funny when I'm in a zeke it seems like the 303s blow my plane apart instantly.

The P-40B was not as bad as I expected. Actually it's the one fighter in the setup that as long as you fly smart , nobody is going to run you down when you try and go land your kills. Just from my personal experiance I got to say the IJN has the advantage on this one. Turn it around make it the solomons with the A6M2 against the P-40E, and F4F, I think the Allies have the advantage. It just depends on the setup.

There are very few setups that are balanced enough to make everyone happy. The best part is they only last a week. The setup one guy hates, another guy loves. The PTO setups are too few and in between as is.

I would like to see a late 43 early 44 setup using the solomons map. F4F's, P-40Es, and F4U1's Land based. F6F's off CV's
Ki-61s, A6M2, and A6M5's for the Japanese.
With the limited planeset theres prob too many holes and this one would get picked to pieces too.
