So is there any consensus on what flap setting gives the best turn rate?

D pony:

260mph, 1 notch of flaps = best turn rate (28.6 dps, 765ft radius)

173mph, 2.87g, 1 notch of flaps = best sustained turn rate (17.9 dps, 815ft radius)

Those numbers were produced by "Badboy".  He did all the required testing and data processing to create some E-M diagrams for the P51.  Searching the boards should give some links to more info.  :cool:
