What is a good yet cost effective hardware setup for these racing games?

Hardware as far as controllers?  Any racing wheel will work, but FF is definitely better.  I'm using the M$ FF wheel and it's held up great for about 3 years now.

bah lead changes in roundy rounds?  usually caused when guy behind punts guy infront +Q

just kidding, I am not saying there isn't at least some excitement in running roundy rounds, though I do get tired and my neck gets sore when I do more than just a few laps!

If there is a a NR2003 road racing group I'd join in there.  (Soon as I find the game, surprised how rare it is in the stores...)

Now that Trans am mod +) +)

I'm not really into NASCAR but running the Glen or Infineon would be cool.  I have a copy of the game which I will install.  You guys should get GTR 2002.  :)

Nash, I've heard that newbies should just use the default "Fast" setup that comes supplied for each track. That's what I plan on using.

The more the merrier... still room for more.

Creamo - are you going to host it? What server info do we need?

Are we gonna hook up to vox? RW?

I trust banana as he seems to have done it before. I'd rather not host, and if RW is still a good program, that sounds good to me. Unless someone volunteers and has a reliable host connection that is. We'll work something out Im sure.

Whoever hosts just make sure the user can select setups and the driving aides. Im still turning 1:18's which will keep me in back and out of trouble till everyone kills eachother off. Unless, my new super duper  HOLESHOT  works. This was my first run of the morning, Tony Stewart and got sh*t on me 1:18 or not.

edit- The Seirra Multiplayer has pretty good chat and setup functions btw. Run a few races there today is your not familiar with it.

You guys would be better off just joining GROWL or NTRL.  Solid, fast servers and experienced people.   GROWL has "Full-Realism" Points Races(Open Setups, best stay out of these events until you have some experience) on Wed. Nites, Open Practice/Qualifying Races(a good way to find out if you are competitive) on Monday Nites, and an IROC Event on Friday Nites(Fixed "Fast" Setups).

NTRL Races are on Thursday Nites and use Fixed "Fast" Setups.

GROWL NASCAR:    http://forums.speedgeezers.com/cgi-bin/iB311/ikonboard.cgi   just scroll-down and look for the GROWL NASCAR Forum.

NTRL:    http://ntrl.newwavecreations.com/

Get your feet wet at the Sierra/Papyrus servers "Open" races.  These are full of dweebs and idiots but useful to get used to online racing.  Races with good drivers use a Rating System to screen-out dweebs and wreckers, so you are limited in your choices  until you get some laps under your belt.

Arggh, just remembered that I have a commitment tonight that I have to be at. I'm out for tonight.

I agree with Cabby, anyways. Best thing to do would be to join GROWL like I'm doing this week.

Its not about setup....

If you can't drive, no setup is going to help you.   Setups just give people an excuse +)

Whelp... If the rest of yas race tonight - good luck. If not, lets try and reschedule this a bit more in advance. Maybe aim for next Sunday or something.
