Uncommon Valor Scenario 19: banana vs. Curval

As the dastardly Japanese, I am plotting Curval's doom in this scenario with the premise that the battle of Midway never took place. Consequently, the four CV's sunk at Midway are available to Japan for use in the south pacific. This scenario also assumes that the Russians, with their hands full in the east, are no threat to Japan, allowing her to release stronger air and army assets into the south pacific. Basically, this scenario gives the best chance for the Japanese to win, and provides the ultimate challenge to the person playing the Allies.

In this first turn, I have decided upon a course of action to ensure capture of Australia, the Solomons Islands and the Hebrides island chain(Noumea, Luganville, Efate Port Villa). My orders have been processed and distributed, and if the gods of war smiles upon Nippon, I will be successful.

The questions Curval faces as the Allied commander is:

1. Where will the main Japanese strike come?

2. When will it come?

3. Do I commit my precious US CV's(Lexington, Yorktown) into early battle, or save them until reinforcements show up in about two months?

The Allies are very weak at the beginning of the scenario, and the Japanese must use every day of the next six months wisely in order to maximize their superiority, before the industrial juggernaught of the Unites States starts to make itself known in Sept.

I can assure you that conquering Australia will be no easy matter, banana-san! What have the Japanese got to face upto the dreaded Aussie Meat-Pie Floater?
