Grun, I used to have a similar point of view about voting. The thing is... no matter how up to date you may be on who is running and what they stand for it is all for naught if you don't vote.

My father-in-law made the point to me very directly one time. I had just entered a discussion with him and others in the family about the upcoming elections (this was in the late 60's if I recall) and after listening to what I had to say he asked me "Are you going to vote?" I said no and explained my reasons why and he said "If you are not going to put your money where your mouth is by voting then your opinion has no value at all."  I thought he had a point and made it a point to vote from then on.

I agree... In a big way I think it's great (no matter if one supports Davis or not). Not only does it send the politicians a message, it also sends a pretty good message to the citizens that they *can* in fact make a difference. It's a nice, immediate demonstration or reminder of "for/by/of the people" that's rare to see.

I think thats my right, isn't it?

I am registerd to vote, if that makes you feel better... :)

I can understand not wanting to campaign, but you're vote is important (even if I possibly don't agree with it). Personal involvement in the political process of the United States isn't just a right, it's a duty, IMHO.

I would find it tough to complain about a process I don't participate in.

Oh and Meitla...... are you making a pass at me?
