Hello again (briefly)
« on: July 12, 2003, 12:20:20 AM »
Anyone have any webspace to post some pictures? I've got a few you guys might find interesting.

1. Israeli soldier in occupied territories - keeping watch and keeping a cat happy at the same time. :)

#2 and #3 aren't so light hearted. They're from a psychiatric hospital for mentally ill survivors of the holocaust (I'm surprised there aren't more).

2. Pictures drawn by a female holocaust survivor. She's apparently drawn the same picture every day for a few decades. She doesn't speak much and they assume the picture portrays her children, who didn't survive the holocaust.

3. Picture of a patient roaming the hospital grounds at night. The patient shown sleeps only a couple of hours a day from dawn until breakfast time. He doesn't sleep too well (go figure).

The saddest thing is that alot of these mentally ill survivors have been disowned by their families.

Anyways, if someone wants to host them I'll zip the pictures and email them to you. Give me an email address.

Okay here goes. I only have '100 MB/month' due to using the free plan with this site - so at ~2 MB of files the first 50 guys can take a look.

http://www.strike9.com/comments.aspx?fileid=281608&path=/ZZZ/fullsize/lost_children_picture_by_mother.bmp

http://www.strike9.com/comments.aspx?fileid=281607&path=/ZZZ/fullsize/Israeli_soldier_and_cat.jpg

http://www.strike9.com/comments.aspx?fileid=281606&path=/ZZZ/fullsize/mentally_ill_holocaust_survivor.bmp

Someone let me know if it doesn't work correctly.

EDIT 1: Holy ****! Correcting address I thought I could 'cut & paste' based off the other addresses. :) That does explain the 'blind invite' from the FDBs to join their squadron though. :)

EDIT 2: Corrected...I hope. :)

I've just been really busy with 'real life'. I get the 'ammos' mixed up between WB and AH - do you work on some type of C-130, or is that the 'other' ammo? I'm going to be at Ft. Hood for a little while a couple of months from now. I was planning on tracking down eagl for dinner and beers if you want I'll email you when I'm getting close to being there. I'm using a laptop for a computer right now, and currently I don't have enough free time to even play laptop applicable games or I'd try 'Uncommon Valor' and drive GVs in AH.

Dowding - everything's cool on my end. Sorry to you and Swoop I came back to the U.S.A. in kind of a rush so I didn't get the free time over there that I thought I would get. I will be coming back to your area before too long though so I'll email you for dinner and beers and beers and beers. :)

Fishu - I didn't know if changing the image type affected picture quality. Fairly new to putting pictures on the internet. The internet didn't really exist when I was a porn star. :)

Killeen isnt too terrible far away from me.  Are you in Texas permanately?  Give me a holler.

I am the "other" ammo..the second fiddle guy.  Sometimes I regret taking that handle in AH back in 2000.  I have to explain to folks from WB's who I am when they ask me that.  Alot of times, I dont get a favorable response..I guess they may think that I "stole" the copywrite on that handle:).  I spent 14 years in the USAf as a Munitions Tech,  lovingly known as an ammo troop in the USAF community.  The guy in WB's that is CO of Spetre is a Weapons Loader.  Typically, there is this freindly (most of the time) fued between our specialties.  I was surprised to find out from him that he was a weapons loader.  Next time you see him, just give him this acronym IYAAYAS, he will know what it means.  He seems like a very nice guy though and he spent 20+ years in the USAF in special operations command.  That deserves some respect in of itself.

Anyone who gives you a hard time for allegedly 'stealing' a handle needs to take a leap. So there's 2 'ammo's in the land of virtual air combat. "Call the President it's an emergency!". It's given me an idea though - in the future I may sign up for Fighter Ace as 'lazs' and fly nothing but Fw 190D-9s and P-51Ds at a minimum altitude of 25,000'. Maybe I can generate some blackmail $$$ that way. :)

I'm not in Texas permanently. When I'm there I'll be there for a few weeks and we'll be in Austin on the weekends I guess. I'll email you or message you just before we head out that way.

With these images, you could cut the size down to tenth of its current size and hardly any significantly noticeable quality difference.
Especially the B/W pictures would get smaller
