Spend most of a year in a combat zone, then post something. Until then I believe the phrase is STFU.

sarcasim dosnt come across well on the net. gotta keep telling myself that. It pisses me off that those troops are being lied as well. It seems like the president is doing his best to avoid explaining to our troops and us citizens a plan of action for iraq. Other then "bring it on"

[Edited for my lack of reading comprehension]

I've heard talk of what sounds like the one-year rotation policy we had in Vietnam. I don't know if it's unit or individual though.

"What was told to us in Kuwait," he said, "was the fastest way to go home was through Baghdad. And that's what we did."

But more than three months later they are still here.

"Well it pretty much makes me lose faith in the Army," said Pfc. Jayson Punyhotra, one of the soldiers grouped around the table. "I mean, I don't really believe anything they tell me. If they told me we were leaving next week, I wouldn't believe them."

That's not good.
"My grandaddy always told me, "There are three things that'll put a good man down: Losin' a good woman, eatin' bad possum, or eatin' good possum."" - Holden McGroin

(and I still say he wasn't trying to spell possum!)

As predicted, media is desperate for a story, and will now undermine US military efforts in classic fashion.

How can the media be desperate for a story when we lose a soilder everyday of the week, and we have 3,000,000 million jobs lost.

Why blame the media all the time? Where's the personal and professional responsibility of the officers commanding these guys?

"I know we'll give unlimited, unedited access to a bunch of our troops."

I'd say a few careers went down the drain in the last couple of days.

You've never been in combat I suspect. I was waiting for this kind of news to hit the mainstream media.

If there's one soldier with low moral in the ranks of a squad, platoon etc. you can bet your last dollar that he's not the only one.

Nothing, and I mean NOTHING can cause a moral problem like being short then finding out you're not...especialy for a reservist.

I realy hope to COD that our troops are relived and soon!

A combination of severe heat, extreme tense situation (where Saddam Loyalists still roam the street with other Iraqi citizens) and lots of sand will do this to you (low moral).  I'd go into Maslows theory but I don't want to put up with the abuse of "You've never served have you?"
