Thanks for that Batz. It's not like I actually spend any time or effort to make a fun event or anything like that.  Aren't you overdue for a name change?

Name change for what?

Cap just isnt that fun. Sorry if it pains you to hear that.

But I am speaking from my own personnal experience. I am sure others dissagree as its now into cap number 27(?).

I gave up around 8 or so and so did most of the guys that flew with me.

But I am sure theres plenty of guys that took our place. Afterall its still going strong and there is np with numbers I assume.

Balance isnt necessarily a problem of "plane set". It has to do with everything surrounding it.

I hope it turns out great.

"Would love to see the P-39/P-400 and the A6M3 added, they are both needed."

I would as well, but I can wait for the P39, it's not like we dont have enought US fighter's at present, I would rather see an early P38 varient instead, my thing with the P39 is that so many other planes are sorly nead in it's stead to fill plane set gaps and adding it would in many ways make some set's harder to do.

"As for speedcharts, Im afraid they dont tell the whole story. If they did the CT would be a very different looking place."

Your right they dont, all three of them can give you an idea of the relative preformances, but the human factor is always present, if it werent the Empire would rarely get any kills at all.

"Early Ki-61", this really would do little to improve it vs the F4U-1 and F6F,"

Well the Early Ki 61 is a tad faster, but more importantly it climbs Way Better, which means it excelerates way better, it will still be slower than the Hellcat and the Hog though but the gap will lessen in the preformance aspect. It should be noted that our Ki-61 is not realy the model it is labled as Mitsu went on a rampage for months over this, it is aparently more like the "c" preformance wise which is why it is such a slug. The Earler Ki-61 is around 20 mph Faster and 1.5 min faster to alt, which would play way better aganst the Allied fighters we presently have to set aganst it.

"and of course, your "cooking" that a bit by saying "lets have the early Ki-61 but make sure its the Ki-61a with the 20mm and not the Ki-61b without""

Even with the MG 151's (which are not as good a gun as the H0-5), the Allied planes have a big firepower advantage, their still way tougher, and wanting the 20mm at least makes the Earler Ki-61 competitive, without them it would be like flying the 202's guns aganst blue planes which would suck bad.

". In any case, like I said its combat record, I submitt, in the CT would be no better or worse than the Ki-61-KAI we have, which has 20mm cannon in the nose, and bomb carrying ability as well, which I suspect is the reason its modelled in AH. "

Having a More competitive Ki-61 would be great, and I am shure many would rather have the 20 mph spead boost and the 1.5min climb boost, I gus the question is why must we have the worst preforming Japanese plane set aganst the Best of the lot for the US planes, which at present is quiet common in the plane set's, out of necessisity since thats what HTC modeled.

No CT set up is compleatly Ballanced, we try but we cant get it to close as you say, it's not posable, but like sickboy said the above, the above set would not run in the CT well since it is so entierly pro Allied.

Good to hear that you don't share the opinion that the current CT (France) setup is horribly one-sided, Brady. I think you and Urchin should come help out the axis side.

I didn't have anything to do with CAP until frame 16, so I can not attest to anything which happened before then. I can apologise for several mistakes I have made between CAP 16 and now (such as the C-47 supply objective in Frame 17 lol... I thought it was fun, but I was the only one) and the very unfortunate massacre in frame 24, which was totally my fault. But if you have read any of this thread I hope you can see that you don't have a clue what you are talking about when you say that CAP sucks, because you have never flown in one of my CAPs. Maybe it's not for you. That's fine. Nothing to see here, move along.

But if you have read any of this thread I would hope you could see that the whole concept that "Balance isnt necessarily a problem of "plane set". It has to do with everything surrounding it" is central to my design philosophy, and that the only way to offset inequalities in the planeset is to first gain the fullest understanding of what those inequalities are, which is why I asked Brady to elaborate.

But hey, dissmiss it out of hand. Knock yourself out. Sure I want more people to give it a try. Sure I want to make this event better each week. But don't worry your pretty head about that. I'm sure you have better things to do.

It's not my set up Arlo, but it does have spits in it and I have had enough of them in my years in AH to prety much avoid any CT set up with them in it, unless it is a Spit XIV which I like fighting. I will see you Next Fiday though:)

I didnt read "all" of the post in here but I like the set up. I like the fact that a group of F4Us will depart a field, a group of Ki-61 depart a field, same with A6M2s, A6M5s etc. If you are flying the A6M2 and u meet up with the F4U, oh well, bad luck but if you meet up F6F vs A6M5, you have a dogfight. This is what I like about it. Many available aircraft with the "luck of the draw" who you meet up against...could be good, could be bad.

Thats better than the typical furball, ballance crap Brady and the typical CT lover loves so much
