Why was I banned?
« on: May 13, 2001, 06:51:00 PM »
Last night I tried to post on this board and I got a message saying I was banned from posting. I sent an email to HTC about it. Anyone else ever had this problem?
HTC, my apologies if I cane across rude in the email.

Seems I remember this happening to a few people a few weeks back.. some kind of a bug.

Has it been a while since you posted?

Hmmmm...I guess your not "banned from posting"...I'm reading your post. (:/)?

BTW: Why on earth would you want to be rude or even come close to rude to HTC in your email. If someone want a certain feature or help from HTC, common decency and respect REALLY works wonders.    (does anyone REALLY think that vinegar will attract flies?)

Yes, a couple of weeks ago and this morning.

I was informed that some ISPs assign a random number each time you open it and at times this matches a blocked one at HTC.

The solution is close and reopen your ISP and all should be well, as proven by the fact that we are both posting.

When did they put this thing in here and WTF is it for?

Yep that's right!
I have DSL at home. It assigns you a random IP address everytime you log on. Its called Dynamic IP addressing. The rest is above
