Bomber AI?

SO I have found out that the bombers in AH have no AI. But how on earth do you get them to stay with you? and how many is it possible to have?

Some bombers can launch in a formation, there are 3 planes in total, you control the middle one.  The others will follow you but only to a limit.  If you maneuver too hard they will lag behind.  If they lag behind too far, they are destroyed and explode.  Basically, you need to be gentle and make wide, sweeping, turns.

The bomber will drop their bombs on your drop, they will also shoot at what you shoot at from defensive guns.  It is possible to have someone else join you and gun from one of the drones to increase your defensive abilities.

btw, you can switch between planes, you have to map a key to do it if you have changed your key mapping.  When you switch then it's pretty much the same, you are just in one of the wingman planes.

if you have the formation option selected for bombers you get a flight of 3. They will follow you and drop bombs when you do. It IS possible to lose them if you maneuver violently, so make maneuvers somewhat gentle. If they get too far from you they blow up. While you are gunning, they will fire at the direction you are shooting. One cool thing to know is that if your primary plane starts crashing, you can hit ctrl 2 o 3 to jump to a surviving plane. You can jump between planes anytime you want. One other thing to know is if you lose all 3 planes, you get 3 deaths. You can choose to take only one buff at a time be de-selecting the formation option.

the only thing i have to add , because Soda and Bockko have say all about it, is that:
if the distance beetwin u and your 2 bomber-drones
will be more than 1k u are going to loose them, below 1k they will be able to reach u again, and form up. ;)

.....also your drones will not "attach" themselves until you reach 200 feet off the deck.  Careful when you take off not to turn until they attach themselves to your lead plane.

One way you can make sharper turns and keep your group together is to go high with the lead plane, hit flaps and float on top of your turning drones, then sink back into formation behind them and regain the lead.
