It's not just a show either, they actually race.  Some of the guys take it easy, but usually the top 5-10 guys in each class are actually racing.  Some great matchups, Ferrari GTO vs Cobra, Jag vs Mercedes, etc.
Open paddock too, so you can stick your nose all around and inside the cars.  Lots of big racing names like Shelby and Gurney and Hill etc.  Good place to get autographs.

Only to a collector that knows which would fetch more money. (Trust me, the 507 is worth more ;) )

Let me clarify:
The Boy in me says "COBRA! RRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrm!!!!"
The investor in me says "507"

I do not have the numbers for the 507, but the last original AC Cobra race car that was sold (several years ago), went for $750,000.00 U.S. (public auction).
If I recall correctly, there are 7 of the original AC Cobra race cars left in the world (might be 8).

A 1957 507 hasn't been sold for years apparently, but it one of the  most in demand pieces of collecting and is only rarely offered for sale at an auction (its usually done privately). (Shrugs)

Incidently, did you see that news clip about the most money a US muscle car fetched recently (apparently a record)...it was some rare 69 Camaro with some type of Hemi motor in it, only 6 were built.  Funny, I thought only Hemi's came in Chysler products.  Anyway, it sold for something like $950,000 !

I think the Cobra looks a lot better.... I would love to have one.

You guys remember about 15 years ago some Cobra's were built from original factory parts and legally had the titles listed as from the original production date?

Didn't Cali catch Shelby doing that and fined him really heavily? I think he got in tons of trouble over it but I don't remeber where I read it.

I'm not sure exactly what I'd do if I where to win the lotto.  I'm am, however working on a fairly comprehensive list of things I'm never doing again.

Yup, but i was concerned with the dates, where rip was saying the shelby was a copy of the bmw in terms of styling.  The AC Ace was built first.
I am not ashamed to confess that I am ignorant of what I do not know.
