Never said Berlusconi was stupid. Just said that he is a corrupt swine who just got immunity a few days prior to being brought up on corruption charges - yet again. Then he does the nice 'nazi' speak to gain some extra votes.
Dowding, Denmark isn't a developing country either. The EU is supposedly a cooperation between states. STATES. Realtive importance and might must be taken into account (as many other things) but imagine having Chirac or Berlusconi deciding what's good for *your* country.
The French have already made the EU impotent through their stupid insistence on farm subsidies, resulting in farmers growing crops they know they cannot sell but crops that'll earn 'em more in subsidies than would the sale of 'sellable' crops.
In NZ they removed subsidies. Contrary to breaking the farming there, it strengthened it.
The Eu spends almost half of its total budget on farm subsidies. Another 15% is eaten up by administration and posh locations/offices/salaries to EU dignitaries. This might sit well in southern European cultures but the Scandinavian one is not one where politicians are supposed to get rich off 'public service'.
Plus, Danish beer is cheap and good. I bet Berlusconi would try to make us all drink 'Roman wine' instead, the bugger.
The EU is farked up, wasting resources left and right. Its politicians are as detached from the European population as are the American administrations from the American people. This coming from an EU supporter. Just don't like where we're headed (for example, not sure enlargement at the present scale is a good idea for Denmark)
