Where was your moment of Zen?
« on: August 07, 2003, 12:42:18 AM »
This got started in the Best Album thread, but where was your moment of Zen? Mine was while listening to Dark Side of the Moon in the headphones while riding my Harley across the old rolling 2 lane parts of 58 & 395 in the Mojave desert at sundown back in '79. It was just me and the road with the most beautiful sunset I can remember. Pink Floyd was the perfect background.

My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

Real Zen is cleaning up your house.:D

My real moment of zen is when I am working on an etching, listening to Rocket 106, and stay up all night doing my etching thing.  Sometimes I take a break and fly the F4u-1d around in AH.  This unfocuses the zen for awhile, but is very relaxing and enjoyable.  Only problem is, it's too enjoyable and thus damaging to the initial moment of zen, which is work I enjoy.:)

I don't know about Zen, but my "Moment of Content" was in Spring of 1993, Driving the Spitfire North on Highway 1 from Carmel to Monterey with my friend Scott Eckle. It occured to me that everything was out ****ing standing, and I live a charmed life.

Got popped for speeding about a half hour later (shooting through the tunnel on Del Monte Blvd. In Monterey) and even that couldn't bum me out.
