Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004: it's released, it's fun, and it's $55 US.
Lots of neat stuff, e.g., weather including rain and snow, landing lights, nav lights, seaplanes, excellent hat viewing maxing flying sensation, tons of depth for whatever immersion you crave, some 23,000 airports, and a nice vintage feel to classic rides like the DC-3 and Piper Cub.
Four CDs, and the fourth has to be in the drive all the time when playing.
I wasn't wild about some of the earlier MFS, especially because the viewing wasn't as good as Aces High. But this version is a lot like Aces High viewing, and of course allows external and internal views at all times with all aircraft.
I see debates about this and XCon, so will have to check out XCon next (is it REALLY almost a hundred bucks?).
And of course continue enjoying Aces High.
