Great Fun in MA Last night!!
« on: November 26, 2001, 08:21:00 AM »
Thanks to all Rooks who participated in Operation "Pyromania" last night (Sunday) in the MA.

The 412th had an awesome time flying advance screen for the main strike force.

In our best squad night to date, the 412th launched 12x P-51s (B and D models) about 3 minutes ahead of the main strike group. We patrolled north of the main target and started racking up the kills.

Rooks were capturing fields and depots left and right, all the while providing the 412th with plenty of targets to shoot.

I would also like to congratulate all of the 412th for their professionalism and great team work in the heat of battle. RED, BLUE and GREEN flights all maintained integrity and kept their wingmen covered. We suffered minimal losses for our high kill count. At one point, we were killing everything that moved near A54.

The important thing was wingman skills the training that our guys have been participating in on Wednesday nights. It seems that the more we train, the more fun AH is to play. There were several heart-pounding moments for all of us, and I am happy to say we pulled through with flying colors!

Once again, Congrats ROOKS and all participating squads. I am hoping that BFD of the VMF-101 Nightmares is able to post the list, as the Nightmares are one of the major contributors to the organization of this event.

Wing up, Get kills, Be happy!

Well Done All!

The Poor knights really had a tuff go of it.

Due to Computer Probs.  I was a last minute show.  Still, I had a blast in a Jug hitting seconary targets too keep the enemy off balance.

Rooks - soon to be the most hated  :D

Muhahaha, only the beginning Midnight, only the beginning  ;).  WOW, the Squads that participated did a wonderful job of executing their assignments, the ROOKs are the greatest!

GhstDncr is preparing an AAR as we speak, all you guys who participated should have it soon.  Thanks for such a tremendous turnout!  Following is a list of Squads that participated:

JG27
Nightmares
NightHawks
327th STeel Talons
412th Braunco Mustangs
GroveRats
Airmageddon
Dover Dawgs
CAF
Horse Soldiers
Nazgul
WildCards
Skeleton Crew
Assassins

We wanted to keep it to a small, intimate group of 70 or 80 for our first Joint Operation (Operation Pyromania, named after Pyroman, the Nightmares XO who is out of action for a bit).  But, we want all the ROOK Squads to join us for the fun.

If your a Rook Squad, please e-mail me at:

dawg898@fuse.net

We will get ya all set up for our next 'Party Barge'  :).  The ROOKs ... a force to be reckoned with  ;).

Cya Up!

Hehe.. you think I would have remembered to bring that with me...

Believe it or not, I actually have a Visa card with the VMF-898 logo on it.

Burma, If we ever get together for that beer, I'll pay for it on my "un-offical" Nightmare credit card  :D

Good job to all the Joint Operation Squads!  It was well run and I had a great time.

I counted 6 airfields, 1 Depot and 1 Port when I logged.  Amazing what you can do with teamwork!

The key is, as we rotate this from Squad to Squad, is to build on the good things we learn each time, and work on the bad ones.  Heck, by the time it rolls back to the Nightmares, we should be hitting on all pistons  :).

Nobody will beat the Knits record of 10 fields in 1.5 hours and a reset to boot. Then another reset 12 hours later, then another 8 hours later, 3 resets in 24 hours.  ;)

Oh Boy, a new goal  ;).  Uhhh, that's for the next Squad to handle - hehe.  Rip, that's AMAZING WTG!  Once in AW we took 13 bases in a couple hours, but it seems harder in here.

I think that was the longest I played AH in one 24 hour period, I logged on at 4am that day..at about 8am PST (it was a Saturday)I was part of the 10 base capture(We just kept hotfueling), then logged for an hour, came back on, 30 min later reset, then I played on and off until 10 pm that night...16 hours and 2 resets while I was on (found out we got another about 1am)...but alas, that was back in the days where we had no more than 150 online.  That would be quite an accomplishment by todays numbers in the main...
