"Maid Tortured to Death
Mahmoud Ahmad • Arab News Staff

JEDDAH, 29 July 2003 — An 18-year-old maid has died as a result of severe burns inflicted by her employers, Al-Madinah reported.

The woman of the house poured scalding water on the maid because she could not understand Arabic, the paper said, while the husband tied her up. Both husband and wife are teachers. When the maid’s condition worsened following the assault, the woman took the maid to her mother’s house with the intention of having her deported for failure to fulfill her contractual obligations.

The mother attempted to treat the maid with aspirin, but the girl, of Asian nationality, succumbed to her injuries soon after, the paper said.

A court sentenced the husband to four years and the wife to two years in jail. The wife’s mother will receive 80 lashes for conspiring to conceal the crime. "

Four years just for boiling a maid to death.  Savages.

Aaah... you're scholar of Islamic law. I for one would like to see where in Islamic text the sentence for boiling servants to death is proscribed...
War! Never been so much fun. War! Never been so much fun! Go to your brother, Kill him with your gun, Leave him lying in his uniform, Dying in the sun.

Yeah, he's right.  That's why Saddam's boys Ugly and Qugly Hussein tortured their own Iraqi athletes when they lost competitions.  Islamic law says that failure to do your job will not be tolerated and the punishment is boiling or burning.

Hey, don't blame me.  I don't write the law, I just interpret it based on official government actions!

That was a stupid thing to say LePaul.  As far as the couple, they should give them a suspended sentence and give them the same treatment they gave the maid instead.

i gotta say more....

i have been noticing more in the news lately... if you hurt somone badly and they suffer a while then die (which would be horrible, painful and stuff) you arent punished as much as if you shot them in the head. seems lately that somone who does that is convicted right away of murder.

like "you didnt mean to kill them" that's BFS!

sounds more like torture to me. and you should get even MORE punishment than if you put a gun in their face.

Lock each one in a separate, unfurnished cell, no food, no clothes. Bare people, bare concrete cell.

Have a big iron pot welded to the wall about 2 feet deep with heat source. Keep it full of boiling water, replenished automatically as it depletes.

Lock to cell is on the inside of the door, key is at the bottom of the pot.

Let them leave whenever they choose to open the door.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!
