a short "funy" for those at work

Got that from a modelers web site, cute story true or not.

On a clear day:
An F-4 "Phantom II" was flying escort on a B-52 Bomber and generally making a nuisance of himslef by flying rolls around the lumbering old bomber. The message to the B-52's crew was clear, "Anything you can do, I can do better."
Not to be outdone, the bomber pilot announced that he would rise to the challenge and out do the fighter. The B-52 continued it's flight, straight and level.
Perplexed, the F-4 pilot asked, "So what did you do?" The B-52 pilot replies "We just shut down two engines!"
Dat jugs bro.

Terror flieger since 1941.

I read the same story (true) with an F101 Voodoo and a B36.

from here

Quote
The German air controllers at Frankfurt Airport are a short-tempered lot. They not only expect one to know one's gate parking location, but how to get there without any assistance from them. So it was with some amusement that we (a Pan Am 747) listened to the following exchange between Frankfurt ground control and a British Airways 747, call sign "Speedbird 206": Speedbird 206: "Top of the morning, Frankfurt, Speedbird 206 clear of the active runway." Ground: "Guten Morgan. You vill taxi to your gate." The big British Airways 747 pulled onto the main taxiway and slowed to a stop. Ground: "Speedbird, do you not know where you are going?" Speedbird 206: "Stand by a moment, Ground, I'm looking up our gate location now." Ground (with arrogant impatience): "Speedbird 206, haff you never flown to Frankfurt before?" Speedbird 206 (coolly): Yes, I have, actually, in 1944. In another type of Boeing, but just to drop something off. I didn't stop."
I am not ashamed to confess that I am ignorant of what I do not know.

That F4 story is my favourite but I suspect it's an urban (aviation) myth.

I read a different more plausible version of the Frankfurt story which I suspect was the origin. During the Berlin airlift an RAF transport landed at Templehof. The Captain was greeted by the airport manager. 'Guten Abend, is this your first visit to Berlin?'  'No' says the Captain 'I visited several times but I didn't stop.'

But I bet there's quite a few of the now retired old Captains at BA who could of said that at one time.

I heard of a similar escort/buff story - but with a tanker and an F15.

The refuller in back was off the radio for a few minutes - Eagle driver asked what he did - refueller responds "I just took my morning relief."

To go along with the Frankfurt stories/myths, I remember hearing one where an American airliner was flying through Frankfurt airspace and the controller on the ground spoke to him in German.  The pilot replied in English, reminding the German controller that English is the official ATC language world-wide.  The German got upset and said "Listen, I'm a German, in Germany.  Why should I have to speak in English?"  The American replied "Because you lost the war."
