I'm not embarassed at all.  Some of them are bozos (Sharpton, Leiberman) just like you get in any primary (come on, tell me you took Quayle seriously in '00), but Howard Dean seems pretty good.

If I were a Republican on the other hand, I wouldn't be able to show my face I'd be so ashamed of my candidate.

BTW, Gore long ago announced he was not running in '04 and H. Clinton has not only said she isn't running in '04, but has started working on her Senate re-election.

Honest?

From his website:

"The war on terror - against an enemy that has killed over three thousand innocents on our soil - is far from over, yet the President's decision to lead us into war in Iraq has distracted us from pursuing the known threat of Al Qaeda. Meanwhile, serious emerging threats - like North Korea's quest to become a nuclear power - remain unaddressed."

-Yes were just letting Al Qaeda go run around free. But let me guess if Bush pressures Iran to turn over their Al Qaeda prisoners, Mr Dean will be the first one to scream "Warmonger"...
And no wonder he thinks the NK problem remains "unadresse." If Dean was president we would have caved into their demands months ago.

"This is my vision for our nation. We must provide every American access to quality, affordable health care."

-Free Stuff! Free Stuff!

"We must cooperate with the community of nations in pursuing our foreign policy objectives."

-We must get permission from Jacques Chirac to defend the USA and be subject to human rights rulings handed down by enlightened Libyan and Syrian leaders on the HR commision..

"Dean outlined a six-point plan for stimulating growth and creating jobs:

--Raising the minimum wage to put more money in the hands of working Americans

--Expand unemployment insurance to cover more full and part-time workers

--Expand aid to state and local government for homeland security and through doubling the Community Development Block Grant

--Invest in job-creating infrastructure programs like school construction and increasing rural broadband access

--A health care plan that reduce costs to employers and frees up additional private money for investment and job creation

--A trade policy that ensures that strong and enforceable labor provisions are included in all trade agreements--to ensure that trade helps both us and our trading partners shore up middle class jobs."

-So lets see Mr Dean create new jobs by:

1) Making labor costs higher by law - why would one hire more unskilled workers if their labor price is higher. Wouldnt peple just move such jobs oversees even faster than now?

2) More unemployment insurance!  So lets see gives people increased incentives to not work for a longer period of time. And of course this money must come from somewhere, more taxes? Higher labor and product costs, you say?

3) Expainding local aid!  Sounds cool but only means more taxes, which means higher cost of doing business and less money for people to spend!

4) Basically sound idea, I like it! But we cant just throw money at it, there must be a focused plan that includes training. Will cost a lot but its OK investment for long term.

5) Ahh. More of that wonderful "free" healthcare. Something for nothing, what a genious!  Basically means more taxes, unless of course he will be making housecalls 24/7 during his presidency.

6) Trade protectionism! That's always a great idea... But of course thats the only way he could protect those high paying union jobs and much higher minimum wage..

The guy is a swine Karnak... Hes very clever though, hes just saying yes to most any left wing desire ...

Actually I kinda hope that Dean gets the Democratic nomination.  It will ensure a Bush landslide.

As Dean himself says, he appeals the the left wing of the Democratic party (which may actually win him the nomination).  Or a Democrats Democrat.

That may play well in CA, NY, and a few of the other extreme liberal states in the northeast.  But his politics would instantly turn off the "moderate" democrats, the independents, and not a single conservative in the country would vote for him.

It would be a landslide of "Dukakis" proportions for Bush.
