Recruitment tips:
-Pay attention to 'new people' that have joined your country lately...take the time to go thru the roster before you fly, and mentally note the names of your countrymen that have no squad affiliation.
-Repeat the above daily, see if you notice a pattern of the same guys online.
-Note their behavior, see if they are the type that die and don't complain about 'uber planes' etc. etc., making snide remarks on the open channel, etc. Ask yourself "Would this guy fit into my squad?"
-Try if possible, to fly in their general vicinity and see if they may 'measure up' to your squad objectives and goals.
-Check their scores to see if they fly both buffs and fighters, you may want someone who does both since that's an indication of a good squad mate, someone who really could care less about score and cares about having fun.
-After you've identified an individual as a potential candidate, private channel him and give him you squad pitch. Indicate to him that you want to send him information about your squad and ask him to decide after he's read the info about your squad (you can you the link above that Camo mentioned, or create your own information sheet like we did in JG2 and VMF-323)
-If you're anything like me, and have a slight attitude problem with some tactics the enemy uses, or a deep concern on how someone behaves online, subdue those 'feelings' and try to be an open, optimistic individual, since its very easy to be a negative, pessimistic person, but its very difficult to be a nice, optimistic person, try to challenge yourself into being a nice person..you'd be amazed what it does for your enjoyment of the sim. The people around you notice it and it attracts the sort of folks you may want on your squad.
That's how JG2 went from 10 players to 55, and VMF-323 went from 3 to 19. I can honestly say that their was never a 'bad apple' recruited to either one of those squads, well, maybe St.Santa....JUST KIDDING SANTA!
