MiniD, some Mini clips
« on: August 04, 2003, 12:21:43 PM »
Found these over on the BMW boards - first two are drag racing clips vs. a rice burner and the second is the driver chasing down a 911 at Pacific.

Enjoy

1/4 mile stuff is about as boring as it gets.  That third one was a hoot though.  The mini driver looked like he knew the lines a little better than te 911 driver.  The 911 driver looked as if he was really looking forward to the straights so he could lose the mini for a little bit.

Horsepower does rule supreme, however.  The mini is fun in the corner, it just doesn't get out of them as fast.

What's with the giant Big Ben cyclops in the middle of the dash?

Thats the speedo Funky..  I'd its an ideal course for the Mini.  It's all 3rd gear (maybe 2nd) for corners and 4 up though the short straight.  The P-Car was holding a pretty good line.. but that Mini can just hold greater speed though the corner even with the P-Car's far better power.

Actually, the Mini has a very clever dashboard.  The tach is centered over the wheel, and the speedo is in the center.  The steering junction box is located in the center of the car too.  The semetry allows for minimal differences between right hand drive and left hand drive cars.
