One lousy piece at a time...
« on: September 19, 2000, 12:47:00 AM »
I picked the left outter outer wing off an F4 tonight in a little furball action, and since we wuz pretty much alone; I whipped back up to watch the results.. Nothin like hangin around the scene of the crime, and yah gotta wach them F4u's.. you think they's dead, but the ain't half the time.

Anyway; I saw some fuel leakin after the wing went and he was suddenly turnin mighty good to the left, but I figured he'd auger in pretty quick with a big chunk of wing sliced off his brick. Right??

.. but he kept flyin...

So I go back down there and take off his right side outer wing; and then went back up on the perch to watch the results... that ought to do it, Right?

He kept flyin.

So I dropped back down and took off the right inner. His roll rate seemed low but he was now turnin pretty good to the right this time..

..and still flyin.

So I went back in a fourth time; and clipped his left outer off. Which solved that pesky sideslip right hander, I'll tell yah. I went back up a bit; but stayed close... hey; yah never know.

Them F4's are tuff.

Anyhow; while I'm playing this little 'parts is parts' A/C dismemberment scenario out, another enemy F4 comes along, spots me, sets up a nice bounce and blows me outta the sky.

With one pass.

Hell; I gotta shoot every F4 down 4 times vs one pass by one of them on my pony??

Damn. Don't hardly seem fair. And I never did get the kill on that parted out Corsair.

Speaking of tough planes...    Last night a certain p51 pilot shot down my CO.  I didn't like seeing this so I made it my mission to see that this particular p51 didn't make it home.  800 50 cal rounds later, where about 100 were hits, I finally managed to wound the pilot and eventually take off the right wing.  That sure was a good fight Han.. *ahem* bish p51.    Got it on film if you would like to see it from the other side of the guns.

I wouldn't let those overweight blue planes worry you too much Hangtime.  Compared to our "Cadillac of the skies," they are no better than a "Hawg."  They don't have the luxury of the magic 1 ping radiator and the disappearing rudder to deal with either.  Besides, if you really wanted to, you could always put the nose down and leave them in the dust.  The only plane I truely fear is the 109g10 if it is above.

(You happen to film the dismembering of this particular F4u hang?)

LOL.. yah; you guys parted me out pretty good. I kept yankin and duckin; hell I musta been doin 420, runnin down into that draw tryin to open the distance and all the while takin hits, gettin pounded at beyond 500 yards.. No tracers, you bum; I had no clue when yer guns were barkin.

In just a few seconds I was trailin every smoke a pony can leak, and *WHAM*WHAM*WHAM* STILL the chunks were flyin off.

At this point; I'm was just lookin fer a likely spot to die, but when the wing got picked off I just covered my eyes and shrieked till the mess impacted the hill.

Nice one.

Microsoft Combat Flight Sim II lets you ignite the fuel vapors if you have tracers rounds. Boom, charbroiled Hog!

Speaking of which, bring on the navy and Islands already! If I see one more farm on the side of a mountain I may whine.

Nice flat blue water so the meatballs show up real nice, with a carrier please.

I second that!

(Dear Diary, Creamo and I agreed to something, does this mean the apocolypse is soon to descend upon mankind?)
