um what are po'boys and Q sandwiches?

never try them, or even ask for a discription.  you'd never be able to eat english food again.

I try to limit my bbq to about once a month.  if it's made well you can feel your arteries clog a little more with every bite.

It's on the corner of Market and Park.  Just take the Market Street exit and go West on Market.  It's on the right, one block past the AM/PM & directly across from the Nissan dealership - if you get to the Texico, you've gone too far.  Definitely worth the drive!  Try some Cheerwine while you're there...he ships the stuff in from somewhere in the SE.  Kind of a cherry soda pop.

I can't imagine you finding anything that doesn't taste good on the menu, but I recommend:

-Ribs
-Pork Loin Sammich
-Sampler
-Hush Puppies
-Fried Pickles (on the menu as an appetizer, but you can ask for it as a side)
-Red Beans & Rice

If you're adventurous, try the BBQ Cole Slaw.  I'm still not sure if I like it or hate it, but it's definitely a different taste.  Best to eat the whole bowl at once, since each new time you taste it you get that initial hit of "WTF is that?!"

Jack's Stack

Anywhere else is just pretending to be a BBQ joint.

Catch 'em? Hell, shoot the lil bastards... a lot safer than finding out those were poisonous berries.

Emmmm Cheerwine, damn good stuff used to drink it like water when I was younger.  I cant believe that Sweet Tea is like the latest greatest oddity up there, down here in the South (Real South, aka Georgia) it flows like water at any restuarant.  Hell you can even get it at Wendy's

Local Restuarant, the food isnt that great but the menu gives you and idea of the type of food I grew up on

http://www.menusunlimited.net/Menus.CFM?ID=21

My friends and I have a tradition of roasting a whole pig before UGA's first home game.  Dig a pit etc and either never go to bed or wake up at 3 a.m. and begin the roast, usually heavily inebriated come 10 or 11 its done and the meat just falls off.

Pfunk, before the Swine came along the closest thing to barbecue was Tony Romas or buying a bucket of Lloyds BBQ Beef slop from the local grocery store.  If I was going to worship a god, I'd probably pick out the owner of the Smokin' Swine as my diety!

And Funked...shouldn't you really be thanking me?  :D  I look forward to eating at Armadillo Willy's during the con.

LOL Grun...I was just thinking about going to a great local joint, or going to a chain restaurant. BTW worlds greatest pork is served in Memphis at too many places to mention....the smaller the better!
